Program

We’ll set off from the heart of the Abruzzo National Park, from Montorio al Vomano in the province of Teramo.

We’ll reach Lake Campotosto, and then continue towards Amatrice (in Lazio) through unspoilt natural landscapes of great historical and cultural value that merge along a journey that covers a total of 111 km.
From Amatrice we’ll proceed towards Accumoli, then turn towards Capodacqua (in Marche), and from there to Norcia (in Umbria).
On arrival in Norcia, after a short tour of the historic centre, there will be an aperitif with all the delicacies of the local pork butcher’s. Then finally the transfer to the hotel, with dinner in a typical Umbrian restaurant and subsequent overnight stay.

111 km, duration 6:30 approx., difference in altitude 1558 m.

After a hearty breakfast we’ll get back on our bikes to set off from Norcia (in Umbria) towards Castelluccio di Norcia (in the province of Perugia), the highest point of the Apennines in the heart of the Sibillini Mountains. In certain months of the year it is possible to admire the blooming of the lentils, called “fiorita”. This period is between the end of May and mid-July.
We’ll continue towards Arquata del Tronto (in the province of Ascoli Piceno) and Acquasanta Terme (in the province of Ascoli Piceno), and then arrive in Ascoli Piceno (in the province of Ascoli Piceno).

Ascoli Piceno is an Italian municipality of 46,115 inhabitants; its historic centre, built almost entirely of travertine, is among the most monumental in Italy, and is home to the Renaissance square Piazza del Popolo. The final part of the tour involves a descent to Porto D’Ascoli, and a ride back along the Adriatic coast to Roseto degli Abruzzi, at the “Bagno Oltremare” bathing establishment.
113 km, duration 6:40 approx., difference in altitude 1350 metres.
